I'm a Transgender or Gender-Diverse Athlete. Do I Need a TUE?

If your gender-affirming treatment includes a prohibited substance (for example testosterone, spironolactone or gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues, which are prohibited in males), yes. You may also need one for threshold substances you take at the same time, such as salbutamol or pseudoephedrine. A TUE only covers your medication. Eligibility for Open, Women's or Mixed divisions is decided separately under the WFDF Transgender and DSD Athlete Eligibility Policy. That process has its own Eligibility Form, due with medical documentation at least 30 days before the event starts. Questions about either process go to antidoping@wfdf.sport.
