Are course resources course printed?

Generally, no printed resources will be provided in an effort to protect the environment; resources and certificates will be distributed digitally.


Are courses externally endorsed?

The resources provided throughout WFDF Academy are intended to be informational and educational. While it is aimed to present a range of and resources perspectives, the inclusion of any particular resource does not necessarily indicate WFDF’s endorsement of the opinions or views expressed therein. It is encouraged to critically evaluate the resource and form one’s own conclusions.

Can I download courses to access offline?

For participants without consistent access to the internet, some courses and their content can be downloaded for viewing and completion without an active internet connection.

To download a course:

  • Download the mobile application
  • Login using the site and your account details
  • After logging in, click '…' on a course and then 'Download Course'

Can I have access to course presentations?

Generally no presentation slides will be shared with participants; participants should take their own notes throughout. Other resources may be available for download via the Academy.

Do I receive a certificate for completing a course?

In most courses, participants will receive a digital certificate and/or badge upon successful completion to highlight their learning achievements. A notification email with a link to download the personalized certificate and/or badge will be sent.


Do I still get access to a course after I complete it?

Participants will continue to have access to courses after evaluations and completion so content can be reviewed, any outstanding requirements completed, to provide feedback and/or to download the certificate/badge.

How can I access course recordings?

Certification Course recordings may be available for viewing afterwards.

Webinar recordings will be available for viewing afterwards.


How can I change my name?

It's not possible to freely edit the name on a profile.

To change the name on a profile, please contact WFDF Academy.


How can I change the language of a course and/or the site?

Courses and their content are primarily created in English but a participant can set WFDF Academy’s system language of the major languages.

To change the system language, when logged in:

  • Click the name or profile picture in the top right corner 
  • Click 'Language'
  • Click the preferred language

How can I contribute to WFDF Academy?

WFDF welcomes and invites stakeholders in the community to support:

  • Suggest and vote on course and webinar topics
  • Collaborate to develop and create content and courses
  • Translate content and courses into more languages
  • Provide general feedback

How can I create an account?

Participants do not need to be from WFDF Members and/or have an active registration to a WFDF Member.

Account creation is open to participants with an email address at no cost.

How can I integrate the WFDF Academy calendar to my email?

To help participants organize their calendars, WFDF Academy and its courses calendar can be added to external calendars such as those by Google or Microsoft.

To do so, when logged in:

  • Visit the 'Export Calendar' link
  • In 'Export Calendar', select 'All events' and the custom date range
  • Click the 'Get Calendar URL' button
  • Click to copy the calendar URL
  • Copy the calendar URL highlighted
  • Log on to your email/external calendar account
  • For Gmail, click the '+' next to 'Other Calendars'
  • Click 'From URL' in the menu
  • Paste the URL you copied
  • Click the 'Add calendar' button

Participants will see the new calendar. Events added to the WFDF Academy Calendar will automatically be sent to your external calendar.


How can I provide course feedback?

Feedback on courses is welcomed. Within each course, participants will be prompted to provide feedback via a survey.


How can I stop receiving Forum emails?

Participants receive emails from WFDF Academy when they are subscribed to one or more forums.

To stop forum emails:

  • Access the email
  • Scroll to the bottom of the text
  • Click on one of the following (log in required to take the chosen action):
    • Choose 'Unsubscribe from Forum' to stop receiving any notifications from that specific forum
    • Choose 'Unsubscribe from this Discussion' to stop receiving replies to that particular discussion thread 
    • Choose 'Change your Forum Digest Preferences' to generally control how and when email notifications are received

How can I update my profile?

To update a profile, when logged in:

  • Click the name or profile picture in the top right corner
  • Click 'Profile'
  • Click 'Edit Profile'
  • Edit the desired fields
  • Click 'Update Profile'

By default, the time zone is set to Central European Time. All deadlines and times in WFDF Academy are set relative to the participant's time zone set. 

If some fields cannot be edited, please contact WFDF Academy to change them.


How do I delete my account?

To delete an account:

  • Click the name or profile picture in the top right corner 
  • Click 'Profile'
  • Scroll to the 'Privacy and Policies' section
  • Click 'Delete my Account'

This action is irreversible and the account cannot be restored. All course progress, certificates and badges will be lost.

To merely stop email notifications of forum posts, view the FAQ 'Stopping Forum Emails'.


How do I enable video subtitles?

Videos based on YouTube can be viewed with subtitles in different languages.

To turn on subtitles:

  • Click 'CC' on the bottom right corner of the video

How do I reset my password?

A participant’s password can be reset by visiting the Reset Password link and inputting their email address.

A password reset email should be immediately received.

What are the accessibility features of WFDF Academy?

WFDF Academy is designed according to World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines level AA. This means participants can:

  • Enlarge text by zooming in.
  • Read the text and view images that have a high contrast to their background.
  • Change the background and text color and fonts using browser plugins.
  • Navigate the website using only a keyboard.
  • Navigate using a screen-reader and speech-recognition software.
  • Listen to texts and image descriptions using a screen-reader (such as NVDA).
Alter This Site to Suit Individual Needs

WFDF Academy features an accessibility toolbar throughout the site, which allows participants to customize the site to their visual needs, such as changing text sizes, color schemes and text-to-speech.

To activate accessibility features, when logged in:

  • Click your name or profile picture in the top right corner
  • Click'Accessibility'
  • Click the 'Font Type' or 'Enable Accessibility Toolbar'to enable features

What can I do if I'm not receiving emails?

If a participant is not receiving emails, they are likely going to the junk/spam mailbox. The participant should check this and ensure academy [at] wfdf.sport is marked as ‘not junk’.


What is the licensing on courses?

Most WFDF Academy content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-No Derivatives International 4.0, meaning that it can be reused under specific conditions:

  • Credit must be given to the content creator
  • Only non-commercial use of the content is permitted (non-commercial means not primarily intended for or directed towards commercial advantage or monetary compensation)
  • No derivatives or adaptations of the content are permitted 

The purpose of this license is for alignment in the Flying Disc Sports’ community. National Federations and the wider community are encouraged to promote, incorporate and collaborate with WFDF Academy. Please contact WFDF Academy to support in developing content to maximize reach and impact.

Some content is available on WFDF Academy through other organizations that have permitted its use and therefore subject another license.


What language are courses delivered in?

Courses and their content are primarily created in English.

For self-study content, it is recommended to install a toolbar extension or a browser to support the translation of content. English text takes precedence in all courses.

Participants and members of the community are encouraged to contact WFDF Academy to support in translating content into different languages to maximize reach and impact.
